Here Account and Data Deletion Request

This page explains how users of the Here app can request deletion of their account and related data. Here is the app name shown in the Google Play listing.

How to Request Account Deletion

1. Open the Here app and go to Me → Settings → Support, or use the support contact configured in the app.
2. Send a request titled Delete my Here account.
3. Include the email address or Google account email used to sign in to Here.
4. If available, include your Here display ID or nickname so we can verify the correct account.
5. We may ask you to confirm control of the account before deletion to prevent unauthorized requests.

What Will Be Deleted

After verification, we will delete or anonymize account data that is no longer needed to provide the service, including:

• Account profile data such as nickname, avatar, biography, interests, often-around places, display profile, and privacy settings.
• Location records used for nearby discovery, City discovery, distance display, and location sharing.
• Friend requests, friends list entries, blocks, City swipe records, and related social graph data.
• Posts, comments, uploaded media, waves, joins, offer responses, and user-generated activity where deletion is technically and legally permitted.
• Conversations and messages associated with your account, subject to safety, fraud, dispute, and legal retention needs.
• Merchant profile information and promotion dashboard data associated only with your account, where no longer required for accounting or fraud prevention.

What May Be Retained

Some information may be retained for a limited time when necessary, including:

• Payment, Google Play subscription, PayPal order, invoice, commission, refund, fraud-prevention, tax, and accounting records.
• Safety, abuse, moderation, child-safety, report, ban, and investigation records.
• Security logs, server logs, backup records, and diagnostic records.
• Information required to comply with law, enforce terms, resolve disputes, or protect users and the service.

Retention Periods

• Most active account data targeted for deletion is removed or anonymized within 30 days after request verification.
• Backups and operational logs may persist for up to 90 days before automatic rotation or deletion.
• Payment, accounting, tax, fraud-prevention, safety, and legal records may be retained for up to 7 years, or longer if required by applicable law or an active dispute or investigation.

Important Notes

• Deleting your Here account is intended to be permanent and may not be reversible.
• Deleting your Here account does not automatically cancel active Google Play subscriptions. Manage subscriptions through Google Play.
• PayPal payment approvals, captures, refunds, or disputes must also be handled through PayPal where applicable.
• Content already seen by other users may remain in their device cache or records for a limited time, but it will no longer be actively served from your deleted account once deletion is processed.
